Staycation in the City

Today’s our “Boyfriend-Girlfriend” anniversary and his gift for me is washing the laundry. I have been feeling sick the past few days, so rather than paying someone, he volunteered to do it since it was his day off.

In time with the moment, I’d like to share our mini staycation in the city – this post was long overdue and this had happened a couple of months ago.

This was the time when I was overwhelmed by the thought that my ‘normal‘ 4 hours of ‘continuous‘ sleep will no longer be possible because school is about to start. We’ve agreed to have an overnight to relax and spend time together – we left the kids at my parents’ house, it’s WE time!

We booked at www.booking.com and found a condotel near my parents’ house, it’s also near our then favorite tambayan : Market!Market!

We checked in at around 6PM and decided to have dinner first. We went to Market!Market! kasi na-miss na daw nya mag-mall. Hahaha!

We went to Tokyo Tokyo and had a Sumo Bento (Chicken Karaage/Beef Misono) and Seafood Ramen (yes, unli rice it is!).

After that, we just stroll the mall and remembered the old days. Hahaha! In reality, walang magandang movie that time, so window shopping na lang.

We bought some snacks to bring with us as we went back to the condo.

Milktea is ♥️!

The Condominium : Cypress Towers, Taguig

The place was okay, you get what you pay for. But, it’s enough if you just want a peaceful night to relax and rest. We loved the view of the citylight outside our room – we honestly missed it here!

Our room was a typical studio type room – it was clean enough but they only gave us one towel and 2 shampoos, no soap. Good thing, we brought our own hygiene kits with us because we kind of expected that.

We had fun enjoying the moment together, relaxing, bonding, and feeling peaceful that there would be no minions running and jumping around.

Finally, a good night of sleep for us!

We were not able to use the pool though, because they were cleaning it at that time.

Waking up next to your favorite person was amazing, especially if you had a really good night, right?

And… our view during the day:

We deserve a good breakfast, too, don’t we? Cos we’ll be fetching the minions in a bit.

Jollibee kids forever! 😍

And there you have it! Our mini staycation in the city. Not a luxurious one, not so special, but really, really worth it!

Our marriage needs this kind of rest from time to time. I mean, we need to remember that we were together first before the kids came in. And as life gets tough, we sometimes forget to choose each other. We may lose that spark – but it is up to us how we’ll stay in love with each other. A simple night of being together, remembering how we’ve started and how we’ve always loved each other will keep that love burning.

How about you, momshies, how do you keep your marriage happy?
